Tradition says that the butterflies that migrate through in the Fall and during the festival of Dia de los Muertos are the souls of departed loved ones returning to greet and bless those they left behind.

Join us on the evening of Friday, November 1 to celebrate the memory and joy of the love that remains.  You can dedicate a butterfly to your loved ones and we’ll adorn the trees on Main Plaza with your mariposa.

Sweet treats, acoustic music, and the glow of the cathedral and twinkling lights will make for a beautiful, and contemplative evening.

We hope you will stop by.

If you can’t make it on November 1, you can still dedicate a butterfly. Fill out the from below.

The Monarch butterfly holds special meaning, as its annual migration to Mexico coincides with Día de los Muertos. The butterflies represent the souls of the departed returning to visit loved ones.

In celebration of this tradition, Main Plaza will transform into a community ofrenda, where printed butterflies featuring names of loved ones to fly through our trees.

Step 1 : Let us know whose name you would like on the butterfly

Step 2: Complete a small donation of $5 which helps us offset the cost of supplies as we build out this community-led installation.
